AquaCuisine was started in the California home of
founder, Mark Goforth, in 1993. The popularity of Mark's gourmet salmon
burgers became such a hit with his friends that he started to freeze extra
batches for them and eventually started to sell them to local restaurants
and specialty food stores. The roots of Aquacuisine however, go back to
the childhood visits Mr. Goforth made to the pristine misty fjords of
Ketchikan, Alaska where he developed a love for salmon fishing from his
Uncle's Dad Bob Ellis, a reknown Alaska bush pilot.
In 1999 Mark and his wife Traci moved their family and company
operations to Boise, Idaho, a compromise with his wife between California
and Alaska. Idaho has strong cultural ties to salmon through the great
migratory rivers such as the Snake and Salmon where Nez Perce native Indians
historically fished.
Today AquaCuisine is one of the fastest growing and
most respected producers of specialty fish products in the USA. Their
commitment to excellence is one reason why so many consumers are choosing
this healthy and delicious alternative to traditional meat dishes.
